April 28, 2009
Lansing, Michigan

Since 1995, the Governor's Education Summit™, co-hosted by the Michigan Foundation for Education Leadership and the Education Alliance of Michigan, has worked in collaboration with the Governor's office and the Michigan Department of Education to engage more than 600 participants in discussions about important issues in education.

As referenced in Governor Granholm's State of the State Address, Michigan will launch a Michigan College Access Network that will bring together foundations, business and labor organizations, the faith-based community, our K-12 schools and our higher education institutions to get all Michigan students on the path to education after high school.

This new organization - the Michigan College Access Network - will be born at the 2009 Governor's Education Summit™ and will make sure every young person in Michigan and their parents know how to plan for, apply for and pay for a college education or technical training.

We hope you plan to join us for the 2009 Governor’s Education Summit™ to be held on April 28, 2009 at the Causeway Bay Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn South) in Lansing, Michigan. We look forward to having nearly 1,000 educators from throughout Michigan join us for this exciting day.
