Leadership training programs exist for all the other valued parties in education, such as, teachers, administrators and school board members. Most parent involvement includes volunteering in the classroom and assisting with fundraising, which are both vital to a school. But, parents who graduate as PLIN Fellows are trained leaders with a strong understanding of the Michigan education system and a plan of how to improve student achievement in their schools. They can and want to improve student achievement.
